EN - "Course en sacs" was a film directed by the Lumière brothers, Auguste and Louis. At the time, they were already making a name for themselves in the audiovisual sector. This one-minute short film shows a friendly sack race, a well-known traditional game. Several competitors, dressed in sacks, jump and try to reach the finish line. The film captures well the diversity of the participants' skills, with some more agile at the front and others trying their best to keep up. There is also an audience watching and having fun with these movements.

This footage shows the simplicity and spontaneity of the entertainment of the time. During the film we also see a dog having fun in the crowd. This short film served as an interesting documentary about the late 1800s. How a simple sack race could entertain so many people.

PT - "Course en sacs" foi um filme realizado pelos irmãos Lumière, Auguste e Louis. Nesta altura já estavam a destacar-se no audiovisual. Esta curta-metragem de apenas um minuto apresenta uma amigável corrida de sacos, um conhecido jogo tradicional. Vários competidores, vestidos com sacos, saltam para tentarem chegar até á linha de chegada. O filme captura bem a diversidade de habilidades dos participantes, com alguns mais ágeis à frente e outros que por tudo tenta acompanhar. Além disso um público esta a assistir e a divertir-se com estes movimentos.

Esta filmagem apresenta uma simplicidade e espontaneidade de entretenimento da época. Durante o filme também assistimos a um cão que corre divertido no meio da multidão. Esta curta serviu como documentário interessante sobre a os finais dos anos 1800. Como uma simples corrida de sacos podia entreter tanta gente.
