«Maputo opens the 1st Brazilian film festival about football in Africa, CINEfoot Mozambique!

In total, CINEfoot will show five films throughout the month of September, always at 6 pm.

The 1st Brazilian film festival about football in Africa, CINEfoot Mozambique, will take place in Maputo from September 6 to 18. It will last three weeks, with screenings always at 6 pm.

For Antonio Leal, creator and curator of the festival, "It is a great honor for CINEFOOT to kick off its presence on the African continent by holding this first edition in Maputo. Taking into account the passion of the African people for football, we have great expectations that this inaugural edition of CINEFOOT will be a great success".

The opening will be on Friday (09/06), at 6 pm, at Cine Scala, with the screening of three films: "A culpa é do Neymar" (11 min, 2014), directed by João Ademir; "Pelé, an unknown king" (38 min, 2017), by Ernesto Rodrigues; and "Radar, a team, a nation" (25 min, 2019), by Douglas Lima and Jefferson Rodrigues.

CINEfoot Mozambique continues with the screening on Wednesday (11/09), at 6 pm, at the Guimarães Rosa Institute (IGR-CCBM), of the feature film "Democracy in Black and White" (90 min, 2014), by Pedro Asbeg. And it closes on Wednesday (18/09), at 6 pm, also at the IGR, with "Geraldinos" (75 min, 2015). Both sessions are free (mahala).»
